Will my iPod work with Columbus

Featured Replies

Still waiting for DVLA to transfer plate so I can collect my estate, 4x4 DSG L & K - time goes slow!!

Will my iPod plug in? Do I need a VAG lead? If so where does it plug in?

You'll need either a 3.5mm to 3.5mm Aux lead if there is an Aux socket in the arm rest, or a MDI fly lead for the iPod to plug in to MDI (if that is fitted it will probably be in the glovebox), or Bluetooth audio streaming (you'll need a BT module that supports your phone and audio streaming as they don't all do the same things)

If you have neither of these, then you are going to have to spend some money and time fitting them or go for 3rd party alternatives.

Some other options for you: 1. copy your mp3 files onto a SD or SDHC card so you don't have to connect your iPod; 2. if there is no MDI in your car there are 3rd party cables like xcarlink, connects2, Dension etc that you can connect up to the back of the unit which may be cheaper; 3. try Bluetooth from the iPod into the Columbus.

its an L&K so bluetooth streaming should be no issue.
