Sat nav on O2

Featured Replies

I'm going to install my Blaupunkt DX-V sat nav system on my brand new O2 next week, and does anyone know where and wich wire is the tacho signal, and is there any wire for RFLS (reverse signal)??? :)

As far as I know (and this is _not_ from experience!) the speed signal (GALA) is pre-wired to pin 1 of socket A (that's the bottom socket, pin on the top right). This is standard and will match (again, I think) what the Blaupunkt is expecting. I don't think that the reverse signal is prewired, but this would only become a problem if you plan on doing vast distances in reverse.

In my current car (Merc A class) and sat nav (a Becker unit) I don't have the reverse signal connected and this has never caused any problem.

I suppose you're aware that the power connections probably need to be reversed (the Skoda uses standard VW setup which sends permanent positive to pin 7 and switched positive to pin 4, whereas the standard ISO setup is the opposite).

No, the signal isn't there anymore in the O2.

Signal has to be taken from behind the dash.

I'll look up the exact pin-position.

Any news on where to look for this pin, behind the dashboard?

Isn't there other solutions than to take out the instrument cluster?
