Well, not quite, but he's going to be abdicating, hopefully some time in June, when his relacement arrives.

Just placed an order for a 140 SE4x4 DSG, with heated seats and screen, in petrol blue. :)

You're going to love it!

What's the mileage on the 110?

Oh you sure will! 30 more ponies AND the DSG! BUT you are also going to have to wash it a LOT more. :giggle: Petrol blue is not as easy a colour to keep clean as Muscovado.

Only 22k but it'll end up with about 25 by the time it goes.

I know that's low but its on Motability and they get changed every 3 years.

We had about an hour drive in a demo this morning. Even sat in the passenger seat I noticed the considerable difference the extra horses made to the way it drove compared to our 110. ;)

The wife liked it too, but not as much as her octavia. :D

We had a similar play in a 1.2 DSG but neither of us were that keen. On normal roads it was lovely and quiet and drove really nicely but seemed under powered on the motorway.

If you very seldom use motorways it would be a good choice.

It was more skittish and didn't feel as planted as its diesel big brother when you push on a bit, though.

Don't get me wrong, the 1.2 IS a very good little engine and I really liked it.

It just doesn't suit the driving we do.

The 1.2 with DSG drives like a 50k car around town, it is adequate for motorways unless you are an overtaking freak, but for an old un like me, the gearbox and the silent running around the city streets makes it the small engine ideal

+1 Fine on motorways and cruises perfectly well at traffic speeds "up hill and down dale" but we only travel 2 up and not masses of luggage. I would think that if you regularly traveled 4 up with stacks of luggage the extra torque of a diesel would be better suited.
