Panoramic Sunroof

Featured Replies

Hello.

I'm looking at a used yeti. While not on my essentials shopping list, I have found one with the panoramic sunroof which seems to be quite an expensive option. Is it worth it and does it cause any problems like leaking, creacking, rattling or other unsavoury things?

Thanks.

Yes Paul, it's DEFINITELY worth it.

Mine is 2 1/2 years old and has only had the mechanism regreased/oiled. I have experienced NO leaks, NO rattles and NO unsavoury things. :)

Now go and put a deposit on the Yeti with the sunroof before it slips through your fingers

Just be very careful and check for usual signs of leaks etc. From bitter experience I would never buy a used car with a sunroof - unless the supplying dealer gives you a guarantee. The one time I did buy a used car with sunroof it was a nightmare of leaks, creaks and heartache. I may have been unlucky but as these things get older then that's when problems start.

Thanks - 2 completley different views :) I need a third tie breaker now lol :)

Ive done a search and not many sunroof complaints show up. Used car warranties are rarley worth anything from my experience so I would probably buy one as the car is over 3 years old now (59 plate).

I have had no problems whatsoever. 3 yrs on and sunroof still completely quiet. Will treat rubber seals with Gummi Pfledge to keep supple. Enjoy!!

18 months, no problems. Makes a world of difference lightening the Yeti's rather enclosed cabin.

I make that 4 plusses and one minus...........................done deal really :D

As the one doubter, due to one bad experience, I am sure you will be fine. Also the "autopark" is great once you have used it a couple of times to get confidence that it actually works. Now parallel parking is a doodle, no head turning, no spinning the wheel, just let the Yeti park itself. Looks from passengers as you park without touching the wheel are priceless!!

.... Oh, and nice brown paint :)

Well, there's one here who thinks you at least got the colour right.... ;)

Velux and self-park - so it's an Elegance. What about the rest of the spec?

It claims to be an SE so I think the roof and park are extras by the previous owner. Its the 2WD 2.0 CR Diesel 110BHP - cheap tax and good economy for me please. Ive got the fabia vrs for thrills :)

Another  on the sunroof,2.5 years and no problems to report.

I always buy my cars where possible with sunroofs, love em,Just have to check drains holes periodically

+1 on the colour choice

Mine also just over two years old and had no problems whatsoever touch wood, makes the cabin light and airy.

Excellent choice though!

OMG, you've found a Yeti with a sunroof AND park assist, boy, you're going to have fun with the park assist. :p

Works bloody well and is GREAT to show family and friends :giggle:

Park Assist is fantastic. I use it most days. Brilliant.

It does make you lazy at parallel parking though. :lol :

Sent using whatever device I'm using at the time.

If I were considering a Yeti with a panoramic sunroof, the first thing I would do would be to check whether my car insurance covers damage to it under the windscreen section. The discussion thread below in the babyRR.com forum highlights that some insurers won't offer such cover. JMTPW.
