Anybody near Salisbury who knows a bit about octys?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I had a major service done a few weeks back and just before I was due to take it, the engine management light came on so I asked the guys at the garage to take a look at it. Sadly the garage didnt look as they could not work out what my turbo timer was (which sits over the diag port) and were not confident to move it. The car seems to still run okay but I would like to get it checked out.

Today my ESP light has come on too. I don't really want to shell out for another trip to a different garage if its something that a really helpful kind person can help with.

I will pay travelling and time for someone to look or even me bring it to where ever needed. I just don't want to be ripped off or mucked about. I know a little about cars but need help with this.

Please can somebody nearby help out?

Very muchly grateful!!

ESP light can suggest the MAF is faulty, iirc. Have you have the fault codes read?

First thing I would do Is take the turbo timer off there not needed !!!

I'm based in Wokingham Berkshire not to far and will happily scan car for you :-)

Definitely needs a scan, I've got a cheapo scanner but wont get a day off until next week :(

Haven't got any codes yet, I bought the car with turbo timer and gages in already. It wasn't used much before I bought it, like barely 1k miles in a year.

You could run it down to ##!!##nique on the Sarum business park (http://www.alltecnique.co.uk/index.htm). Or even Janspeed (http://www.janspeed.com/) on Castle Road. Janspeed recently built me a custom exhaust system for my car.

##!!##nique helped me out with a CEL when I first bought my car 5½yrs ago, so they have all the equipment.
