if they are what srandard size are vrs brakes? not sure what standard size golf mk4 1,8t brakes are lol

wether these are front or back look like fronts

The Fab's are 256 standard on the front.

Hard to tell in the photo so I could be wrong!

Use euro car parts website to see what size brakes the golf came with.

That should give you an answer :-)

No, the fabia has 288mm on the front. The problem is, the 1.8t golf come with different size brakes depending on output. Getting the part number would be the best way to check

Make sure you ask for the part number from the carrier, not the caliper. On the Golf platform, 288 and 312mm brakes use the same calipers and pads, but a different carrier to hold the caliper further from the hub to accomodate the bigger discs. Unfortunately this doesn't mean you can use your current 288 calipers as the Fabia uses a different caliper design/manufacturer as standard (ATE vs Lucas, I forget which car has which).

They certainly look like the calipers and carriers I used for my upgrade yes.

They do look a bit sorry for themselves though.

Are the sliders included? They're 10+vat each from TPS... i had to get them for mine :(

yes everything is there but not sure wether these are 312 or 288mm or if there are an upgraded item that can be used as they were free so a good clean up and paint may be usefull if there an upgrade

  • 2 weeks later...

if the carriers have cast number 301 they are 288mm and if they have 451 they are 312mm. hope this helps ;)
