Rear Wiper Blade.

Featured Replies

Tried to buy a new rear wiper blade this morning, what a waste of time.3 local car stores did not have one in stock(one place did not know the Yeti even exsisted!,the car that is).Halfrauds did not stock the item,Eurocarparts only do the front pair and when I rang up Alex Lawrie for a price NO ONE was available in the parts dept' to take my call.In the end I did what I should have done in the first place and ordered one on line.

I replaced all my wiper blades in January this year, bought of Ebay complete set Bosch Aero twins for the front and original rear for approx £26.00. My local dealer wanted £56.00 plus labour if fitted at service!

I had the same problem this week, Skoda out of stock, Halfords listed it but not available! With an impending jaunt up North I needed one quickly so ebay not an option.

Luckily my Skoda dealer gave me details of a VAG/Skoda trade outlet nearby. Popped down there on the off chance and was welcomed with open arms. Picked up a genuine part for £14!

I ordered a pair of Bosch wiper blades off Ebay on Monday morning, they arrived today. £16.99 all-in.

Its the long Easter weekend so it looks like Tuesday before I get the blade.

Try your local automaton....they can sometimes get things very short notice....

I bought mine from TPS in Croydon. They were the only people I could find who had one in stock!

I Think that's where I went and for exactly that same reason!

What I cannot understand is the lack of spare blades. If I was after a spare for the AC system fair enough, but a 11 inch rear wiper blade common to the VW/Skoda range-seems a bit daft to me.

I think the issue may just be that the world hasn't yet woken up to the fact that Yetis are starting to need the rear wiper blade replacing. The blades are out there, but the packaging hasn't been updated to include the Skoda Yeti in the fitment list. If it says VW Golf Mk VI on the box, 282mm long (11") then it'll fit.

At last, the new blade arrived today-luckily the weather has been dry as the old one was completely U/S.This the first time I have ever had to renew a rear wiper blade on any car I have owned.

Do you happen to know what caused the rear wiper to "give-up"?

No,have not a clue, gave the rear screen a wash n wipe last Thursday and the rubber blade actualy split.Have not treated the failed blade any differently from any wiper I have had.

OK, thank you for your answer. So, that means I should check the rear wiper rubber from time.

Best regards!
