Help please.....

Featured Replies

Today I was driving along and a red dashboard light between the temperature gauge and the fuel gauge flickered on and off. I could not get it to illuminate with just the ignition on and it wasn't on long enough to see properly what the hell it was! Any ideas anybody before I contemplate trying to run the interior on petrol and matches. (this is due to me starting to hate the list of problems and expenses that have accompanied the car since I bought it.)

2005 Fabia VRS

When you first switch on the ignition before you start the engine all of the dash symbols should light up briefly.

They do but this particular one doesn't. I can't find any info to tell me what it is. Its very annoying. It just flickered momentarily but not long enough to see what it is.

if you look in the manual it tells you what all the lights are for and shows where they are....

if you do decide to start a bonfire you could put it on the meets page and make a night of it

Yes of course, I wouldn't let you guys miss the "accident followed by fire" for the world. I would of course look in the hand book but that is now outside and I am now inside. You can see the problem there can't you? Yes, im lazy and its cold outside.

Thats fairly awesome. Thanks ever so much for that. I can't find the light though. Its very strange.

it must be the in built love heart light that flashes occasionally when your car is happy :D <3

Hahahahahahahaha, but I think its female.....

I've had this myself after a cold start on my PD100 and it was the temperature light... just like yours it flashed briefly, about 10-15mins after setting off. It's never done it since, so I try not to worry about it.

This is a light that I cannot even find though. Its probably some Pirates of the Caribbean style ghost of a light that Skodas of old used to have come back to haunt me for when I did or didn't (balance for legal reasons) do something wrong which I may or may not have done any way. Or something.

Any way, so today I found out what the light was. Its a new one on me as I have never seen this warning ever. Its a symbol showing you that your rear seat is not secured properly. Well I never. In fact, well well well.

yep that was on the newer fabias 05 on same as the seat belt light although im sure if you sat on the seat it would click back in to place .... another useless annoying safety feature

Considering though how old the MK1 Fabia is concept and design wise, I think that all of the failure features are pretty good. I say good, by good I mean annoying. In the hand book it says that when the bulb for instance fails, a "peep" sounds. Im sorry, but its not a bloody "peep," its a massive BBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which kind of irritates, today, the washer bottle that seems to drink more than an alcoholic, "BBEEEEEEEEPPPPP!" followed by the, its 4 degrees or under, "DDDOOOOOONNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!"

lol beeps for everything

Yes, that light is for the "interlocking of the rear seats". Mine occasionally flashes as well, despite the seats being in position properly and having no movement at all. I decided not to worry about it and just ignore it as "one of those things" :)
