Hybrid

Featured Replies

Tried the search but not found what im looking for, all im after really is, whats the difference between a hybrid pd150 turbo from say turbo dynamics and just a normal pd150 turbo off say a golf?

Basically my mates offered me his turbo from his golf for pretty much next to nothing but im not completely clued up about it all so trying to do my research.

Cheers.

One is a normal pd150 turbo the other is a hybrid pd150 turbo.

Normal 150 will do 195/200bhp on its limit

Hybrid 150 will do 220-230bhp on its limit

Has different internals you see so its like a bigger turbo in a smaller case

Cheers jase. When you say limit, if you was to go to its limit do you risk the turbos reliablity?

Yes remember the 150 turbo is ment to produce 150bhp. So running it at near on 200bhp is going to put it under a lot more stress! Im running my 150 leon at 198.6bhp and its holding so far

The hybrid 150 will do 230bhp balls out! Yet again it was originally a 150bhp turbo but has some trick parts.

See i only really wanted around the 200 mark, but i dont fancy having the turbo go pop

You could run a hybrid pd130 turbo at around 200 - 210.

Get the 150 turbo off your mate and send it to aet turbo's

They'll hybrid it for £399+ vat and it will run happily at 210-215bhp forever
