would you accept this?

Featured Replies

I ordered some ball joints from a site that listed the Lemforder ball joints for my Fabia. the listing said Left and Right.

so I ordered 2. both are the same and for one side so I found the other listing and ordered another 2 for the other side again making sure they were Lemforder as I like to keep things the same on each side.

Now this site sent me some random stuff.

notice the difference in the pic:

Now would you accept the one on the right when you had ordered a Lemforder kit like the one on the Left?

apparently its in their Ts & Cs that they can change the items for something of the same quality. HA that's a laugh done look the same quality to me.

thoughts?

lol

Personally i would not. Im very much like you though by wanting to keep both sides the same.

Send them back and buy from elsewhere.

dont complain, trw is oem stuff whereas the lemforder stuff is just cheap factored rubbish

Except the trw hasnt got the correct bolts or locking plate.

yes that's a fair point, i would still prefer to use a trw part rather than any other brand given the choice

Lemforder are one of bmw 's oems, so I doubt they're going to be too bad.

That said, I'd rather a matched pair.

If their T & C's say that they can send an equal and suitable replacement there isn't much you can do about it, unless you can prove that they have sent an incorrect part

To be honest you have nothing to worry about with both brands, sold both for years no real problem. You say the TRW has the wrong nuts, and not a locking plate, It has spring washers to lock the nuts in place. I would rather that than the thin locking plate that will rust out alot quicker than the washers and real nuts ever will. But i do agree with the point you make on sending two different brands, they should have notified you before they were sent out. It's not good practice to sell different brands, and i have also heard of problems when getting the tracking done after words as different makers parts differ from the next maker slightly.

cheers fellas.

I sent them back. the bolts look like ones from toolstation same as the washers. Lemforder are Skoda OEM parts so Ill stick with that. hope they get it right this time if not Ill just go to TPS. Just I don't like bothering them down there as I feel like I not sposed to go in lol.

it needs to be as skoda intended ie the lemforder kit. This is coming from someone that kicked off when a garage used a cable tie on the CV boot lol n not the proper clamps like were in the kit.

I practically live in there, don't worry, he couldn't care less !!!

Distance selling regulations would apply though.

Think thats why they took them back.

They said I should order again if I still wanted them but on ordering there is no comment you can post so I can say I want the actual thing not a replacement.

Juat a bit concerned ill get the same crap sent and have to go thru it all again.

Might order it then send a msg to customer service straight away with the order number and say lemforder or nothing.

We shall see
