Dump valve spring

Featured Replies

Hi

Installed my new dump valve at weekend. Purchased off eBay item number 251099867404 it's a mk1 octavia and has been mapped but not sure what bhp? The car has not had anything else modified so I just left the blue spring supplied. Will it make any difference and are they ok valves? New to vag 1.8t engines but know to avoid atmospheric ;-)

If it has no other mods then it will be a stage one which is usually around 205-210bhp, but you may want to get it in the rolling road to be sure. I think then u will need the medium spring in the valve, I'm not sure what colour that one is on that valve.

Think it's yellow one. You get 2 spacers too but not sure if u need to put one below spring?

I would first run with blue spring and see if that runs ok and holds boost.

You will soon know.

If not go for yellow spring.

Forge colours are:

Green

Yellow

Red

Green being softest

Think yours are:

Blue

Yellow

Red.

Blue being softest

You should not need mapping just by swapping a DV and spring.

Seems to be running on with blue spring. How do I know if its not holding boost?
