Just wanted to know how much oil your octys are drinking.

I have a 54 plate with 111k on the clock and do mostly short trips of 8 miles. I'm putting in about 1lt every 600-800 miles.

Is this about normal? What are your cars like?

2001 / 82k. 0w40 Mobil 1 changed every 6,000 miles, approx 15 miles per day, mix of town and motorway. Doesnt use any oil.

I have an 04 VRS with 94k miles which I have had for 4 years. I got it on 32k miles. Always 5 w 30 Castrol Edge used and I've topped up 500ml in that time to keep it at the correct level. So just over 15k a year.

I would say that is a lot of oil to be using,

2003 with 86k. Dunno what oil is in it as I havnt changed it yet since buying it. But in 3k it hasnt used any.

And every car uses some oil so these my car uses no oil is a load of baloney

But yours is using waay to much!

Same as above consumption wise for me.

In 6k, mine does not move off max. I have nothing to hide by lying!

Its a turbo car it will still use 'some' oil! Be it a very miniscule amount it will still use it

my 04 vrs run on edge sport 5w-30 uses approx half a litre between changes( 10k)

142,000 miles does 10miles per day in week and loads on a weekend serviced every 5,000 miles uses maybe 1/4 of a litre between changes on dealer filter and 5w40 quantum with a tiny oil leak on rocker gasket :p

Mine used alot of oil until I replaced the s shaped breather pipe under the manifold coz it was split. Doesn't use hardly any now. Not sure if the two are related but the front of the engine was covered in oil.

51 plate vrs with 97k on clock running 5w30 changed every 5k and ive never topped it up between services

whats the oil like as mines on the 5w 40 quantum ?

Not a problem with it at all. £29 from costco for 5L (fully synthetic) also as mentioned doesnt drop on the level at all. Been feeding it that for 6 years.
