skoda vRS octavia ..intake manifold runner control fault

Featured Replies

Have taken Skoda Octavia TDI vRS (170) to local skoda dealer as the amber engine light came on. The fault found was the in-take runner flap to be defective short to ground.. fault code= P2009. They suggest replacing the in-take manifold part no. 03L129711AG at a cost of €467(this seems to be just a plastic manifold so I don't see how this can short to ground). Can anyone tell me is it actually the in-take throttle body part no. 03L128063e that I require???

I can't help with that fault code I'm afraid, but the manifold part no. 03L129711AG does contain variable flaps and an electric motor to control them, so could potentially be what is shorting to ground.

didn't know this .. thanks for info.. looks like I need to investigate further if there are motors inside the manifold

is there actually motors inside the flap or are the flaps all controlled by the motor at the end of the manifold.. part no. 03L 129 086

if I can just figure out which motor/sensor is gone I could replace it myself.. but skoda's totally new to me..
