Columbus Sat Nav in Fabia II

Featured Replies

I was so dissapointed with amundsen sat nav, that I have decided to replace it with columus.

I was a little bit worries it this will work - but hopefully it works perfect.

I also had made the new software upgrade to 4120 version and map to V9 West.

I only had to recode everything with VCDS - because the sat nav I have bought was from Superb.

After recoding - I have no errors at all. Sat-nav, radio and dvd works.

The only thing that is impossible to change is the picture of superb interior when choosing fader/balance.

Now my coding is

Component: RNS-MID H55 4120

In my opinion - this is the best upgrade for now.

next step is to put the reverse camera. When I got the whole stuff I will post the upgrade.

Hello,

I did the same this week replacement, but does not appear to me to MaxiDot navigation. Can you please write how you outfit? MFC steering wheel, BT etc? I need help with coding.

thank you

Do you need a fascia adapter?

If I could get my hands on an affordable Columbus HU I'd be installing it right now :)

Plenty of stolen ones on ebay

Any second hand sold in any way can be stolen....

Unless you can see all the paperwork (highly unlikely as not many people exchange sales agreements with suporting paperwork trail) there's no way of knowing really. Unless you send serial numbers to the police? Would they be interested?

My coding is in my first post - you have to tick the navigation option in VCDS - CAN installation list - and the reset columbus

nope - I had AMUNDSEN before - so no need to get any fascia adapter.

I have just put mine in from the Octy and it isn't picking up the speed sensor....ie it sometimes doesn't quite know where i am and the speed dependent volume doesn't work. Do i just need to tick the nav box in VCDS?

tick it in the vcds and code it properly - then reset the columbus.

So will the Columbus provide driving directions in the maxidot display when coded properly then?

If so, I'm very tempted. Does the amundsen not do that?

Siekla - you mentioned the reversing camera. Will it work with 'normal' parking sensors instead of a camera?

Also: will it work properly with the Fabia's bluetooth? Or does it come with its own?

yes it does work with the maxidot once you have the can gateway set up to see a sat nav. This is where I got stuck but under installation list there is a tick box for sat nav. This then let's you go into adaptation to set it up

It will work with bluetooth and parking sensors also.

The columbus will work both with sensors and camera - you can both have a rear view and sensor view on one screen.

Unless you had amundsen + in your car it will work with your bluetooth fitted to the car. The amundsen + radios are fitted with bluetooth device inside.
