Skoda Superb facelift official photos!

Recommended Posts

You really are taken by this FL aren't you Leon?

Sure does, tis starting to grow on me now.

I really like the rear of the FL Twindoor, I used to prefer the Combi but not as much now. I think the new headlamps, and the overal finish has improved it greatly.

From the Skoda media site -

On sale in the UK from 17 July 2013, prices for the facelift Superb range start at just £18,555 (OTR) for the 1.4-litre TSI 125PS S hatch. The top-of-the-range Laurin & Klement Estate model costs £32,455 (OTR) when paired with the 2.0 TDI CR 170PS DFP engine, 4x4 and 6spd Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). Diesel versions start from £19,760 (OTR). The premium for the Estate over its hatch sibling is £1,125.

The Superb facelift will be available in the UK with six advanced engine options: three petrol and three diesel. Power outputs range from 105PS (1.6 TDI CR) to 260PS for the 3.6 V6 model.

Engines are up to 19% more economical than the previous generation units, and a fuel-efficient GreenLine version offers emissions of only 109g/km.

The fleet sector will make a significant contribution to Superb sales, and with BiK starting at just 16%, and more rear legroom than most prestige cars, the Superb’s appeal is obvious.

Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK, commented: “The Superb continues ŠKODA’s tradition of offering a huge amount of space, engineering excellence and great value for money.

“Since its launch 12 years ago, the Superb has been lauded for its versatility, comfort and equipment. This comprehensive facelift builds on these and we are confident that the excellent improvements to fuel consumption and CO2 will appeal to both fleet and private customers.”

price is still a bit high, bring it down a bit and oh my god they should sell, standard equipment is unbelievable! like it wasn't bad with the pre fl, does it get the b7 passat chassis now? or still the b6? it looks like onwards and upwards for the superb

And for the estate:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/models/superbestate/new-superb/prices

Notably the 2.0 TFSI appears to have been dropped, which is a shame as that was the model I had my eyes on (especially with 0% VAT). Trading in an XF, with some good deals on the Sportbrake (which - apart from height - has a very similar load area) the difference is going to be very much closer than I had anticipated.

I cant believe that you cant get a manual 170PS 4x4 anymore and that it only comes with a DSG gearbox.

So pleased that I ordered my manual 170ps 4x4 a few months ago and it should be with my dealer very soon, I certainly would not have ordered if only th DSG had been available

Blimey, quite a jump in pricing though it does put it in about the same relative position with my company car budget as three years ago. My budget is pegged to the current list price of a BMW 318d SE saloon. I'm now even more certain that I will be swapping the Superb for an Octavia Estate. Still a reasonable difference in BIK percentage, 19% vs 15% (Superb 2.0 TDI CR 140PS DSG @ 137 g/km vs Octavia 2.0 TDI CR 150PS DSG @ 119 g/km).

Best regards

U G L Y you aint got no Alibi. How hard is it to make something look bloody good? Audi do it, Volkswagen do it, So why can't skoda get it right. Just because its cheaper, make it look good for pity's sake. It's okay but nothing special or Superb!

I know it's down to a matter of personal taste and actually liking any Skoda seems to be coming a bit taboo on Briskoda but I don't agree! The twindoor is a big improvement over before and the combi is still one of the best looking estate cars on the market.

I have to say though whilst I do really like almost all current Audis, VWs don't do it for me. None of them are ugly, but apart from the Scirocco the whole range is a bit bland.

Most estates look like a saloon converted to an estate, not so with the Superb. I think it was probably the other way here.

The new one is a great improvement compared to the pre fl Twindoor. I don't think it looks any worse than a vw passat, I think we need to see more of it to appreciate the changes.

I seen the latest Passat, and Jetta drive past me yesterday and they weren't particularly exciting maybe because I've seen so many pass. I think the same when the insignia was released it looked reasonably classy but now theres too many. Thats one of the nice things when you see a Superb, there not as common so they don't age/ loose interest from people who appreciate good design. :)

You can maybe say the same for the C5, it's rare so it still looks smart and up to date (in the right spec) because they're not as common.

totaly agree 100% with that statement, a Citroen c5, skoda superb and chrysler 300c all have the same popularity if you like, you see maybe 3 or 4 a day but not the same as insignias, Jesus they are to common and when it was released i loved the styling but seen so many that you just dont notice them and the diesel's are sh**, but superbs and 300c's i always notice and love the styling on both, even the rear of the hatch superb is a bit dull yes still a decent looking car,

Yeah the pre fl rear is still a nice design, it was just a shame they missed the opportunity, they got the front so right first time on the Mk2!

I did force myself to configure a Passat - I know they are nice refined cars even though they look (IMHO) mind-numbingly dull compared to the Superb (and the Sportbrake). The price with options was again in Sportbrake territory - the same applying to other "premium" estates even in the class below. The Superb's non-premium competitors are generally saddled with horrendous depreciation which as a private buyer I am not keen on.

Hence, with the demise of the 2.0TFSI (and not even considering the thirst of the petrol V6!) my shortlist is now - for similar size, performance, equipment and running costs - Superb 170 TDI DSG vs. Sportbrake 2.2d. Both excellent cars, the latter having better residuals and a few other niceties, but a higher price. So, dealers, it's calculators at dawn!

They've improved the 3.6's mpg slightly ;)
