I'm curious to know peoples opinions on where exactly the oil level should read on the dipstick for tdi owners?

I normally service my own cars but this time i decided to get a local garage to do it, to save me grovelling around on the floor. Personally when I do a service I always thought it best to have the oil register 3/4 of the way up the dipstick when cold.

Checking my oil level after the garages service, it appears to have been filled right up to the maximum mark and possibly slightly above, and that's when cold.

Just a bit concerned, as normally I don't put that much oil in when i do it.......

your meant to check the oil level warm ....

when warm the oil level will be on maximum but when cold after being stood it could be around 2mm above maximum
