Octavia II FL gearstick fitted in PFL

Just incase anyone was still wondering if this can happen, or if someone was looking for a picture;

Got the part from Skodateile, including the brushed alu frame, ashtray, and the dashboard trim pieces (not pictured - the ones on either side of the steering wheel and above the glovebox)

Pop the ashtray out, pull the old frame over the gearstick. The Skodateile gearstick has a new metal clip (sorta like a jubilee clip) already fitted on the new gearstick. Use a screwdriver to lever the old clip out, pull the old gearstick upwards (mind your elbow => eyes), fit the new one.

The silver really makes everything a bit more brighter (all black was a bit...black!) The new gearstick makes it feel like a brand new car! It's not just cosmetic, it has a "groove" for your fingers at the back, good improvement I say!

Looks good.

You'll be pulling the fascia trim off and spraying that to match as well (although you might be able to find a silver fascia to fit your car's controls: they are hard to find though!)

My personal preference would be a pre-FL Vrs 6 speed brushed aluminium gear kn*b - obviously not in your 5 speed though!

I also bought a black fascia trim, with the intent to spray it.

However, I saw a picture once on here that showed just that. And I didn't really like the all-silver fascia with the 3 adjustment knobs for the heater "sticking out" all black.

Maybe taping off a square around the heater controls, leaving that black, and respraying the rest. I don't know yet :)

Should I go all Alu, or shouldn't I? :wonder:

Gear stick looks great. I think I might have to change mine now as my old one is a bit worn. How did you buy from Skodateile? Their website says you have to contact them by email to purchase but any email I send just bounces back. I used the email [email protected]

Wrong email, use [email protected] to contact Ales directely!

Great thanks!

Looking at that picture, maybe not!

But with more silver 'bling' on the Bolero, you might get away with it...

Yeah I'm not sure either.

Maybe just a square around the Amundsen satnav, leaving the heater controls black? But spraying that is going to be tricky...

An Audi S line one is the way to go :) my own opinion of course :)
