My new BCS exhaust

Featured Replies

Drove down to BCS Automotive the other day for the fitting of my new exhaust system so though I would give my thoughts on the whole process.

Having discussed with Nigel what I was after they made me a hybrid system between their full on 'sports' system and their more restrained 'prestige' version with a 200 cel cat. Its 76mm all the way through even around the awkward bends at the rear of the car. It took a few weeks for the system to be completed and once it was ready I got myself booked in for the fitting.

I arrived at their workshop from Newcastle at around 10am, inside they had their own very nice Golf R and also a customers 4.2 Audi S4 for which they are developing a system. Nigel was out at the time but was greeted by Dave and the other lad whose name has escaped me at this moment in time. Had bit of a chat then it was on to fitting the system. There was a bit of a wait which I didn't mind especially as they are very particular about getting everything perfect, was plenty of tea and coffee on offer  .

A lot of attention to detail is put in to the system, the angles and positioning of the exhaust tips and the way they exit from the bumper had to be to spot on for them to be happy. Once it was all on it was time to fire her up, what a difference!! Despite not having the full on sports setup it still sounds fantastic. On idle there is subtle burble and rumble to the tone of the car which tells you its not the OEM exhaust. This this then turns into into an awesome roar when giving it the beans, love it. Been driving round with no radio on just to hear it! Definitely not a corsa with a drainpipe or as crazy loud as evos etc can be which I absolutely wanted to avoid. Motorway driving there was no unpleasant drone in the cabin. Looking back the only thing I would have changed is wrap the downpipe, but they used a massive flexi joint so there isn't actually much pipe to wrap.

In summary, the exhaust is awesome, the guys at BCS were top notch and without taking anything away from the likes of Miltek I would recommend everyone to really consider them before going to a big brand system.

Pics to follow

What was the price for the system?

  • Author

Less than what an equivalent Miltek system would cost  . If you call Nige at BCS and mention that your on the forum he offers a discounted price compared to the standard price advertised on their site.

Hey Guys

We would like to organise a group buy on this at some stage would there be any interest at a Briskoda special forum price?

Cheers

what is the power valve?

A valve that opens up when the car comes on boost. Google it or look on you tube for videos on the mk5 golf gti. Does sound nice...
