Fabia II visibility

Featured Replies

Hi

My mother is looking at a Fabia to replace her exisiting car and I have been browsing the web for her. The 'Which' review suggests that visibility for parking / manouvering is not that great on the Fabia II, is that true?

Thanks

Matt

Not true. You sit high, the windows are large for the size of the car. Much easier to see out of than my wife's Fiesta.

The only criticism I might have is that it's difficult to see the end of the bonnet, but it's not that far from the window, anyway!

would agree with Oz. I'm (now) rubbish at parking cos used to driveway and parking space at train station and work. Even I can park mine; the parking sensors help a bit mind you! They are a bit sensitive though.

She getting vrs?

What is the existing car that she is used to.?

I usually end up parked no where near the kerb even when i thought the wheels are away to hit it.

second try normally gets me nearer and close enough to not be embarrassed if anyone is looking.

I'd say visibility is very good. Better than my previous cars, 2 Mk1 Ford Foci and a Mk3 Mondeo. The seating position is high, the wing mirrors are nice and big. Parking is one of the things I am least confident with but even I find it relatively easy in the Fabia. As mentioned above, you cant actually see the end of the bonnet due to the way it swoops down but It's something you quickly get used to.

Try driving a MINI.

Visibilty is great, nice large, flat (not tapering to a point) and good all around vision as the others have said, I teach learner drivers in mine and compared to the more popular Fiesta and my colleagues cars (Kia Ceed, Kia Rio and Citroen DS3) the Fabia is amazing, try one :-)

I think it is very easy to park and to see out of. Far easier than the VW Fox I had before the previous Fabia. Easier than the Superb Estate I had before that too :)

As everybody else is saying, its very easy to park and visibility all round is very good to.

Yep, visibility is good all round and I've never even considered it an issue. There are times when I appreciate my rear parking sensors but then the estate is a fair bit longer than the hatch.

She getting vrs?

She is 76!! And drives a Vectra - so obviously that has amazing rear vision :) But the repair bills are getting more common and it is large for her needs.

Thanks - I'll get her down to the local Skoda place near us for a test drive

Agree with all the above. No visability problems.

My dad is 74 and has no problems driving or parking his Fabia MK2.

My Dad is 75 and had no problems parking his Focus but he finds his brand new Fabia very easy to park. He had one on the Skoda £8995 offer for a new 1.2 70 PS SE and paid £295 for an extended warranty. Bought it via a PCP and has 3 free services too.

He also enjoyed my vRS but disliked the ride :)

I don't yet have my Monte Carlo just ordered one and I've got say the visibility is great i have a ford fiesta at the min and visibility is awful so for me the Monte is perfect your mum should be fine

Fabia ii's are easy to park because the turning circle is so small, and it's a narrow car.

Agreed that the front does curve away, even with the seat fully up, but it's still an easy car to park.

Coming from an old BMW estate I find it a lot easier to park, but as above not being able to see the bonnet can be an issue at times, always end up parking quite far away from the car in front, apart from that no issues :)
