1.8 sierra saphire

i know it isn't the best car in the world but it works(apart form the clutch), its RWD and has back seats so many plus points compared to the nova.

so what i'm asking is does anyone know any easy ways to get more power from a 1.8 sierra and is the clutch a DIY job?

cosworth engine conversion?

nice and original that one. if i change the engine i'd rather do something a little different. small block V8 maybe

Get a Scorpio Cosworth engine, 2.9 V6 209bhp. Stick that in!

But the Sierra uses a CVH engine so cams can be bought, as can 40's (or even 45's if you mad enough). Or, stick a 2.0 Zetec head on it for a nice ZVH for not a lot of cash. Or even go for a full zetec engine?
