another down to earth person!!!!!!! good on u !

thought this was a scene from ""driving miss daisy" for a mo!

JOKING GUYS!

The new Cooper S is 170BHP, not 163BHP. And it isn't as fast as everyone makes out to be, I've driven it way too many times for me not to know what it's capable of. Cooper S works...210BHP...THAT's something to talk about.

Like my first post in this thread said......you go fluffy, I'm not surprised you took on the S easy. The vRS is a quick little car for 130BHP.

Hmmm. Read the whole thread, as advised elsewhere.

Having read the whole thing, I'm still back where I started. Someone tried to overtake you, so you accelerated, with oncoming traffic making the situation more dangerous. For some reason, when being overtaken, you felt the need to baulk the overtaking driver, something to do with your pride, no doubt. Whatever you think of the manners or safety of the driver behind, the Highway Code is quite clear on what you should do when being overtaken, and it doesn't involve accelerating, no matter how "miffed" you are - which apparently was because this person had to pull into a gap behind you.

Now we're supposed to sympathise with you, and laugh at the expense of the Mini Cooper driver, because he's in a different brand of car. That doesn't work for me. OK so his overtaking wasn't of the safest - but you are an independent motorist, not a policeman or a judge. Leave that job to those who are paid for it.

chant! mil mil mil!

Its amazing how people become all high and mighty when posts like these come up' date=' why o why do people chip/remap cars? Just for the track? I think not.

As long as we drive with a little sense then who really cares?[/quote']

high and mighty? nah just sensible. i dont go out to try cause accidents by careless driving!

i had my octy remapped, why? for extra acceleration, flexibility etc etc. remapping a car doesnt make you drive recklessly nor does it need to be justified by driving recklessly.

afterall from what your saying if you remap a car all you want is to drive like stated in this thread? or above the speed limit? i dont think so tbh

so the only reason anyone buys a vRS or GTi or Type R is to break the law or drive in such a manner just because they are quick cars?

and a big  to nick. very well put and agree 100%

good reply, must have been worth the effort

I'm quashed by the strength of your intelligent argument. I have nothing further to say.

I did state that as long as we drive with a little sense, causing accidents doesnt come into that.

Non of us are perfect.

very true mate, i couldnt agree more.

At the risk of sounding like everyone's dad, perhaps a re-read of the highway code is in order?

144: Being overtaken.

If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle pass. Never obstruct drivers who wish to pass. Speeding up or driving unpredictably while someone is overtaking you is dangerous. Drop back to maintain a two-second gap if someone overtakes and pulls into the gap in front of you.

As all sensible debate seems to have gone out of the window, this thread is now closed.
