That has a small silencer. A mufflerectomy is infact a pipe that replaces the silencer. It's the most subtle out of all the exhausts mods you could do.

Just gives a nice grunt when you put your foot down. I think the exhaust some of the other lads may be referring to is a straight through exhaust!

Sod that then, could get your own custom made for just a little bit more then you don't have to worry about fitting it yourself.

Perhaps enough noise to draw your attention to Mr plod traffic police, noise don't always equal power especially in a diesel but it might draw unwanted attention.

just cut the exhaust off where it starts to point backwards just behind the engine and put a chrome tip on it :)

Lol what you all like. Decided not to buy it anyway. I've read the standard exhaust is good enough to suit the mods I got coming up

isnt it about 210bhp for standard exhaust n panel filter?

Decat is best. More whistle without added tractor.

The standard exhaust is good for around 200 Bhp yes. Joshh only gained 1.X Bhp when he added a Piper full system to his hybrid turbo setup.

I have a decat system, I do like the sound!

They only make the owl / pigeon noise if you have a straight full STAINLESS exhaust, so i've been told. My car is de-catted, so we though why not? took out the back box with a straight pipe and tip. no owl/pigeon noise, replaced by the sound of a tractor on steroids. Back box back in. LOL

Mine didn't do it at all, and mine was a full stainless system haha. The most owl noise it did was with just a mufflerectomy.

no owl with my no box and cat system either. heard it could be to do with mapping.

The owl noise happens when you have a downpipe with increased diameter

well obviously not as mine is larger.

My down pipe is near 3" and didn't do it. I've also read it's down to how they are mapped.

I spoke to Ali at unit18 before I got my hybrid fitted and he said its a side effect of some turbos, when combined with a decat and mufflerectomy some do It, some don't.
