After fixing my leaking boost pipe i seen it was leaking oil on the intercooler. gave it a clean as it was caked in mud so got that off and i discover 2 small holes at the bottom of it. great! guess the mud was keeping it tight... lol.

So now i need a new one so I'm just going to go for a universal upgrade and was wondering if anyone has used one before and fitted it with no problem?

if the hole was in one of the tanks rather than the cooling pipes / fins in the centre you could get it repaired

All depends how much you want to spend really. My FMIC wouldn't have cost so much but the couplers bumped up the prices a fair bit.

That kit is a fair bit kit is a fair bit more expansive than say buying a 2nd hand standard intercooler.

i've seen a couple online for £20 but they all say they are from a octy vRS. would that fit?

That's the right sized intercooler to go for assuming you fit the piping in a similar fashion to the TX Autosports kit.

Having read a few things and had a few conversations, I'd either buy the intercooler bare and spec my own piping or buy something like that "kit" but expect to have to spend more to get a proper piping setup.

OTOH I can't get myself enthused when someone's been boasting of their intercooler "corn" sizes for at least a year!!!

Lol i'm only getting it for show to be honest I dont care about power or anything like that, got an ST for that. a new front mounted cooler is less expensive than a standard one though so thought it makes sense.

There are a few standard fabia ones floating about! Hell I even have one sat there doing nothing!
