Swissol report

Featured Replies

First off a MASSIVE thanks to Adrian (SkodiRS) for arranging the recent GB for Swissol Kits. (Sent you a PM btw)

Arrived on Friday at work. I set aside saturday afternoon to do the deed, with nearly three weeks of manchester city centre grime "baked" into the paintwork. :o

Set to it just after two.

Claybar - interesting experience. Absolutely :D shocking :D how much cack is still present though, even after thorough jet-washings and soapy rub-downs...

Pre-wax oil thingy - bizarre. Having light paintwork doesn't help, but once worked in as per instructions, was almost invisible. maybe my paint was more knackered than first appearance suggests.

Shield wax - this stuff rocks. It must be a feature of the swissol stuff bit i get grainy bits. I assume it's the carnuba. It's all good once it hits the bodywork though. Goes on smooth. comes off almost as easy.

Finished at around 4:30, and stood back to admire. To say it was shiny it an understatement.

I took a picture , and despite being over-cast and a crappy camera phone shot, the glare/reflection factor speaks for itself.

Was most amused yesterday when, with rain all over it, the water didn't just roll off, but almost rolled into a line and then made it's way up the bonnet like a wave, leaving it dry as it went.

Again, big thanks to Adrian and John (Swissol) and a huge  for the products as usual.

Good innit :D

Now all you need to do is every time you wash it, put a slight smear of wax on the leading edges (lights, front of the bonnet, A pillars and door mirrors) and buff it up as these are the bits that take the brunt of the crap thrown up. Every couple of months lob (technical term ;) ) a coat of wax on the whole car. Then every spring do what you did at the weekend. Make sit so easy, I've found that I can wash and dry mine in under 20 minutes if I don't have to do any waxing

It is good stuff and glad you have found it so. :D

Wax does have a grainey texture.

Rain just falls off and makes some interesting beading patterns.

In addition to what Jon has said I also wax the headlights and rear lamps...makes getting the splattered bugs off easier...off the front anyway.;)

Also I wax the alloys......makes getting the brake dust off easy.

My RS is also silver but it buffs up a treat.

p.s thanks must also go to Colin...The Boss....for the initial contact with John.

John.

you drive at high speeds in reverse i see!!!

I usually wax mine every 4-8 weeks now, and it only takes 1 hr to do the whole car, light lenses, number plates and all.
