Fabia Recaros

Featured Replies

What would people be willing to pay for a set of Fabi fit Golf mk4 Recaros like i have in my car?

IMG_9870_zps5080e679.jpg

Given I've got a full comfort interior in my garage which nobody wants it'd make sense to do another swap over job rather than just bin it all; but as with anything i'll only do it if it's worth my while ;)

What would people consider paying for say

Fabia Golf Recaros?

Fabia Octavia Half Leather?

Are we talking front and rear octi half leather?

as long as its a straight fit to my car and in good condition im looking for a decent set for around £80-100, im getting rid of my vRS interior soonish

Saying that im willing to pay a little more for them especially if they are in good condition, and i wouldnt mind some octy half leathers, i can keep the rear vRS and hhave the octy front stuff :D message me pasty and sort something out!! :)

Might be an idea to offer them in an exchange basis?

we could be.

I have the Comfort Fabia metalwork which would accept any other VAG platform arrangement.

It would depend on what i could source.

If i could find an octy half leather i could do that, or mk4 Recaros like mine, or a TT arrangement, or a Leon Cupra set.

It'd depend what i could find at a decent rate

£80-100?

you can't buy a normal VRS set for that let alone something "better"

it'd need to be nearer £200 for me to consider doing anything.

I sold my VRS interior on that basis which is why i have a comfort interior cluttering up my garage.

Of course i could be tempted to take a VRS interior back if it was in decent condition - although i'd be able to sell it as well as the original owners...

I think the octy half leathers would look fantastic in a vRS but also the Cupra leathers would look decent too.

Would be interested to see how it turns out if you do go ahead and do it, and I'm pretty sure lots of people would be interested...

Would you do a px for standard vrs seats? And is it front and rears or just fronts?

  • Author

Please remember this is a theoretical therad i don't actually have a set of these seats i'm just trying to work out if there is a market for them at the price i'd want to sell them for.

but yes for £300 it'd be a full set of fronts and rears

Part-ex - not really as i'd just end up in the same situation of having a set of seats with no home.

I guess I could do £250 plus your standard seats if they were in good condition

See I'd probably be interested in that at £250 and offer you my standard seats in return, only thing is would you have to notify insurers at all?

I defiantly think there is a market for them as it is cheaper than a retrim and keeping them standard. As long as the octy seats were in great condition

Any better pictures of your rear seats Pasty?

Look a little baggy in that top picture?

That picture (and these) was a "plonked in place" picture just to give the impression.

The material and foam weren't actually finished (and still aren't) so yes it is baggy

They are simply resting on the metal work.

Given the size difference between the Golf section and the Fabia section it's the only part that needs professional intervention.

So i handed it all over to an upholsterer and asked him to fix it, a process of trimming and reattaching the foam and then trimming and resewing the material to match so it all fits nicely.

I've also fixed the back of the passenger seat for those eagle eyed enough to notice ;)

So the £300 is for a full set of octavia half leathers to fit a fabia or a full set of recaros if ive read it right ?

It could be yes dependent on what i can source

Id rather pay the 300 for the octy seats and keep my vrs seats and sell them myself. They are worth more than 50 quid. But im very intrested.

depending on the way my financing goes over the next month or so,, so am i :)

Given I've realised my Recaro's may have been a bargain and sourcing something new may be more expensive would people be interested at £350-£400?

I guess the cross over point would be when my option becomes more expnesive than a Seat Surgeons retrim?

How much is a seat surgeons re trim? What colours do the octavia vrs leather seats come in?

  • Author

£600 from what i read plus you obviously have to donate your original seasts so can;t make any money back from selling them

Octavia seats have black outers and white inners with embossed logos rather than embroidered

Those recaros are past their best :D

Isn't getting the leather backs to fit gonna be a lot harder than cloths?

Just realised I've forgotten to pay you dude, will do it now

Indeed they have seen better days but IMO the drop in overall quality is more than made up for by the more supportive shape and the fact they aren't dirty after 5 seconds! ;)

TBH though they were £55

I actually paid more for the scabby Fabia seats i used to donote the metal work :@

Indeed that's a bridge that my upholsterer would have to cross.

Jonnyy said that his only cost £70 to be amended and fitted though..

I know the saying goes that you need to spend money to make money but i really need the money for other stuff. Other stuff being a wedding...apparently)

That point was made even obvious when that money is already in my pocket and wouldn't really grow from carrying out this project.

As such i'll leave it to someone else to pick up as it is a truly ludicrously easy project to do.

Octavia VRS interior here for £175

My Fabia Comfort interior to use for donor metal work here for £60

Amendments to the large rear bast rest at an upholsterer for £75

Total cost £310

Sell your remaining untouched standard VRS seats for £150

total cost to upgrade to half leather = £160

seems like a bargain to me! ;)

Id do it if they was full leather recaros probably
