Featured Replies

I`ve just jumped in the car to pick the mrs up from work and the engine wont start. ESP fault on the dash but its making a very loud and fast "clicking" noise from the engine when trying to turn it over. All was fine this morning.

Any pointers to whats wrong?

Awaiting the AA to arrive now.

Limited Edition Tsi btw............

Flat battery.

Or poor battery connection/earth

lights, cd player, everything on and working

I had this before in a merc- I stopped at a train station to pick up a mate, turned off the engine and got out to say hi. Got back in the car to drive off and the car was dead- heater and cd player working but battery dead. RAC came out and changed battery and never had the same problem again- Apparantly the battery had dropped the cores internally and so not enough power to start. Wierd

Battery 100%

What did THE AA say?

Definitely battery. The lights, cd player etc don't need much juice to run, but the starter for the engine needs a lot of umph!
