removing number plate plinth

Featured Replies

hi there, has anyone removed the number plate plinth on a vrs? i had a quick tamper at work but ran out of time... is it screwed in or taped on? and is it part of the bumper and grille? or has it got the bumper behind it?

cheers! :)

It is clipped on and has a bumper mould behind it.

It clips onto the bumper. It's easier to remove the bumper and get to the tabs from behind

You will need to remove the number plate too as it screws through the plinth and into the bumper.

Mine didnt have screws dan? Yer bumper off job sorry.

I mean the actual number plate mate, I screwed mine on as I didn't want to loose a pressed one :)

Sometimes the dealers tape them or screw the plates on.

I was removing mine a couple of weeks back and couldn't work out why it wouldn't come off after all the clips were out. I didn't realise the screws were long enough to penetrate the bumper too lol

Sorry dan miss read your post.
