Handbrake problem :s

Featured Replies

Hey guys, yet more help needed haha..

Got into the car this morning and set off to work, noticed the handbrake light on and started beeping like hell so i thought i was an idiot and left it on, turns out i never.. and the rest of the way to work it just kept beeping and flashing even know the handbrake was fully off..

Anyone know why its doing this? Ive read loads about the problem with the back brakes sticking, could this be the problem? I never felt any heat coming from the wheels..

Or would my cable need tightened possibly? Because i only have to pull it up a little with no effort for it to engage slightly

Any help much appreciated :) ta

Check your brake fluid level. Handbrake lights often multi-task as a warning for low level of brake fluid.

Topped up with brake fluid and its gone, cheers! :)

If it needed a lot of brake fluid then maybe check for leaks, otherwise it could just be due to pad wear.
