Rear brake replacement - Fabia SDi

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

Just been changing the tyres on my Fabia SDi estate today and noticed that the rear nearside wheel hub is covered in what looks suspiciously like brake fluid.

This is a little out of my DIY league tbh so I'm planning on going to get it looked at. I am unsure as to the best place to take it, my local Skoda dealer always seems to rip me off. Kwik-fit seem to have a free brake check though.

I would love any advice as to what it could be, where best to take it & any thoughts on how much it would cost to fix. Obviously is the brakes need changing, then both sides need doing.

Cheers guys,

Avie

Go to Kwik fit and you will probably come away with the brakes fixed, but also 4 tyres, tracking, exhaust, service and anything else that they can work in! This is a job that any good local garage can carry out, you just need to find one that has good reputations from other people. If the fluid is showing, check the level in the reservoir, and look at getting it done sooner rather than later.

A better place to post would be the Mk.1 forum,
