Monte on 16 inch alloys.

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has a Monte on 16 inch alloys, and whether the ride would be more comfortable, and what the car will look like.

If you put it on mk1 vRS standard 16 inch alloys it will look quite good.If you put it on Halfords alloys it will not.

You will then be on 45 profile instead of 40 profile tyres so the ride should be marginally more comfortable.

Montes in europe use a 16in rim cant remember what it is called

Widen your tyres to 215-40-17's you will up the side wall slightly which coushions rough road impact quite alot I found, or maybe try 205-45-17

Yes they have the option of 16" 'black' comet alloys; same pattern as on the Elegance spec.

Run ours in winter on 15" rims which does improve the ride somewhat but at the expense of handling and oddly steering feel.

Mine on the winter 16" Audi TT Speedline alloys. I'm looking at switching to 16" comets for the summer, as I find the 17" 40 profiles to harsh on my back.

No really fussed about the handling, and I haven't really noticed much difference.

And given the roads are more like a rally route...

there were some 16inch team dynamics pro race 1.2 in the for sale section last i lokked. would look good on them

Currently in the south if France and seeing a lot of Monte Carlo's - all with 16'' comet in black with a polished lip.

One yesterday had gloss black painted rear valance and a carbon bonnet.

So 15" wheels do fit on the Monte and vRS ?

Yes but they look awful lol
