The radio turns up the volume by its self

Featured Replies

As the title says

I have had the radio turn up the volume by it self on a few time on the radio and on the mdi, is this normal?

Does it do it the faster you go?

Sent from my dad's old HTC Incredible S, not a dodgy s3!

As above its normal for it to get louder as speed rises :-)

You can turn this function off or level 1/9

The volume goes up and down even when I drive slow and the volume goes up and down when I go over bumps in the road

And how do you turn it off

Go into the Radio Menu.

Look for 'Gala;and adjust . its 'Gala; that increases the Volume as the car goes faster.

Although the gala function of the stereo is meant to increase volume with road speed, it sounds too sensitive to me. Perhaps you have a dodgy wire, making and breaking contact and utilising additional speakers intermittently?

Just a thought!

I had that as wel but in my case I realised I was accidentally (ham fisted thug!) turning the "roller" volume switch on the steering wheel :)

It even turns up the volume when parked

This can also be local radio stations not pushing the traffic announcement button at the right time. Have had this on numerous occasions. Radio goes into mono mode and volume goes up.

I'm trying to invent a system that increases the radio's volume as soon as the Wife starts the churp

Just leave it on high.

Give her something to suck on ;)

No need for volume changes :D

I occasionally have this on my Mk 1 when using the clutch a lot in traffic. I will pull away solely on tick-over revs, the radio will get significantly louder before dying back again quickly.

I presume it is a clutch position sensor thing. I'm not terribly worried as it only does it once in a blue moon.

Is yours tied to clutch use?
