What's the 2WD 110 derv Yeti like as a motorway cruiser?

Don't throw your toys out of the pram just because I did not accept your offer - anyway, I thought you were buying the Silver Urban from the London dealer for £15K?

And please tell the other members why you will not be buying my one - I am sure they would all love to know. If not perhaps I will tell them.

Not throwing my toys out of the pram, I'll happily post the entire content of your email to me if you want me to (which you subsequently apologised for in another email)

you set one price, which I then made an offer based on (and you subsequently revised your asking price upwards) - it is the 'nature' of your reply to my offer, not the fact that you've declined it!, if you've had a row with your wife (as stated in your apologetic email) don't vent that on me, and if the row was so bad that you needed a beer (again as stated in your email) then have one and chill out before sending me a snotty email.

Simples :)

Showing your true nature I see. You obviously though I was a soft touch "old git" who would accept a stupid offer, and ask me to believe your £1500 main dealer telephone (not in person) reduction . Anyway, no need to throw around insults in public on this forum - PM/email me and I will reply.

Be sure to post some photos of the £15k silver Urban after the weekend though!

And don't think putting a stupid smiley face makes it better. Anyone who can't make his mind what car to buy and has to ask others....well!

PS: Livened up my night though - the MODs will probably delete these posts so I will not be replying to any other of your insane comments. You picked on the wrong guy with me.

Sorry I asked guys....

I don't and neither does my cat :giggle:

But I nearly did

But what about your dog?

You are welcome.

I nearly went for the Octy, in fact I came very close to sealing the deal if it were not for the deal on my Yeti (she was an show room model) Although a bigger boot would have been nice the raised driving position combined with the removable seats and the shorter length swayed my decision. It may not work for you though. Take a few test drives and good luck with what you decide on purchasing.

But what about your dog?

Sorry, I don't have a dog but if I did I guess it might chase after an Octy.

I haven't insulted you anywhere?

I have stated the facts?

I haven't 'picked' on you ?

you listed a car for £14,995 and I offered £14,750 - how is that trying to fleece you (or whatever term you used?)

All you had to do was politely decline my offer, rather than send me a ranty rude email?

I haven't posted or PM'ed anything rude to/or about you - so no, the mods have not deleted any posts I have made.

My true colours are, you've been rude, insulted me and wasted my time in the process and so yes ....I'm annoyed! - but I'm not insane.

whatever.

Wasted your time - what a few emails from you today - hardly!

I am also annoyed so I guess that makes us even. Perhaps you want to read my reply to your obnoxious comments on the for sale section as well.

PS - whatever!

I refer back to post 34!

I haven't posted anything obnoxious anywhere, just facts.

I had already read, and replied to, the comments in your for sale thread.

Crickey, you seem very sensitive for a car dealer with 40 years experience..... need a snickers?

Thought you were not making any more comments. Not a snickers but a G&T reading your posts. Lets just leave it now shall we, and both act like grown ups.

I think someone has only just found out what the rest of us have known a long time about truthseaker...

And what might that be "freedie"?

And it's Truthseeker not Truthseaker.

Is there really any need for you to add your snide comments - please keep them to yourself or qualify your reason so I can defend myself.

Not sure that's needed really, he seemed fine to me. :)

Hard to judge people by how you interpret writing on a forum IMO. People have good and bad days.

That's why I like going to meets.

I also personally believe there is enough personal stuff in this thread already, without adding more. :peek:

Thanks Richard.

Yours is the voice of reason as usual.

I am really sorry that this thread got out of hand, but you are right...good days and bad days.

Car still for sale though or shall I do what you previously suggested and customise?

I have a Mk2 vRS currently and am trading it for a Yeti Greenline in a few weeks. I do about 12,000 miles a year mainly motorway and get about 35mpg in the vRS whereas the Yeti should be at least 55mpg so a saving (with the much lower tax & insurance) of £1200-£1500 pa.

The vRS is great fun to drive, albeit a bit firm so you really feel any bumps in our lovely smooth UK roads, but like the OP I'm getting older now & quite prefer the idea of comfort and economy over flash & fast nowadays.

Yes the Octy boot is massive but I've tried & I can get my golf clubs & trolley into the boot of the Yeti I test drove so I'm more than happy with that as I don't have a family or family holidays to worry about.

So personally anyway that's why I'm going Yeti.

I want to thank everyone who has posted useful and positive information here, it is most appreciated.

In the first instance I'm investigating the white Octavia listed on the forums here, but if we can't come to a fair deal that we're both happy with then I'm going to order a brand new Yeti.

It's about ten years since I've treated myself to a brand new car, so it's well overdue. On reflection, I'd rather order one in the spec that I want, than compromise on a 2nd hand one.... and I know for a fact that my wife would love a brand new car!

Cheers :)

I had a 110 hp front wheel drive Yeti, changed it for a 2010 2 .0 tdi pd Octavia Elegance estate, no DPF great motorway cruiser , loads of power, massive luggage space, unlike the Yeti. spare wheel , option on the Yeti, buy the surround thinge for the spare and you lose most of the boot space, If you need to go off road go or likely to encounter heavy snow on a regular basis a 4x4 Yeti would be my choice. For motorway cruising all round practical car my choice would is a Octavia Estate , especially with new model available.
