" Hows your car running now Silver, any better??

Good to see you back Andy!

Thanks for the interest, I decided to stick it out in the end rather than cut my losses.

So far *touches wood* she is doing well!

The cold start issue, although still present, has been much better this winter, oil level no longer rising, DPF regens have settled down but the (then) brand new turbo still likes to whistle away when cold!

It's amazing how many issues poorly fitted / leaky injector seals can cause! Still I'm satisfied they are fitted properly now.

Long term damage from the diluted engine oil? Who know's, only time will tell.

I was very close to having the DPF removed based on your experience with your old PD170 but it's still fitted. I've learnt alot about DPF's now and have learnt how to recognise the regen attempts and ensure I help the car to do it's thing before the DPF light shows itself.

I'm on 80,000 miles now. Averaging 30K/year the DPF will still die before the rest of the car so it'll no doubt have to come off before I sell it.

I'm following the Ambrosia thread with interest, glad to hear she's still going strong. I don't know why but I thought you'd have bagged one of the last MkII DSG Scout's and had it mapped!

Nice to be back, glad the cars running better

Scout, me, no, what ever made you think that, 2 Vrs's is just perfect, well for now.

I don't know now!

I think when you were trying to help me up out of the depths of despair when my vRS was on it's knees you linked a Scout for sale at Benfield near you.

I was sorely tempted!

I still haven't made any of the local meets. Shame on me.
