To sell or not to sell

Featured Replies

I am reluctantly considering selling my 2002 skoda octavia daily driver which I've owned for the last few years. It's been a fantastic economical car, and fits the bill perfectly but looking for a change. It has just been MOT'd at the beginning of April so almost 12 month MOT on it and a service with a oil and filter change. It breezed through the MOT with no advisories. Last year it had full set of brake pads and discs and new tyres so the car needs nothing. I had no intentions of selling until I got an itch after taking a test drive in a car my mate us selling. It's been perfect during my full ownership and I have not done anything else apart from a front wheel bearing.

I am the 2nd owner and it comes with a full service history. The car has only done 85,000 miles of which around 30,000 miles have been done in my ownership.

Being the Laurin and Klement edition it comes with full leather interior, climate contol, alloy wheels ( full size spare alloy) cruise control, electric sunroof, 6 CD multichanger, traction control, heated front seats, electric heated door mirrors, Xeon headlights and so on and it's been great

It been excellent economy wise returning between 50-60mpg according to the trip computer. I've never seen it below 50mpg during my ownership.

Question is am I mad looking to sell this car? Is it something I should hold onto as I do love it? I'm put off with the hassle you get selling the car etc. is there anywhere where you can actually get a hassle free sale and not have to deal with time wasters? Where would be the best place to sell? Hope I can get some advise as I am sure many of you know the process selling your skoda. Hope this is the right area of the forum to discuss, please let me know if I should move to another section.

Cheers

Scott

Keep it.

You should definitely not sell it.

Err think you need to check yourself into the nearest mental health hospital m8 lol

Sent from my dad's old HTC Incredible S, not a dodgy s3!

'Grass is greener'. Thought about selling mine many times but kept it as in the same boat as you...running great with no issues.

Keep it & enjoy, old is wise :p Newer cars do not always mean better reliability or a better car than you give up :)

Yup remember that new diesels have egr which costs loads when they block up, the 1.9tdi is loads better than the new 2.0, sure that includes the mpg
