Temp Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi.

Hope one of you guys can help me out with a (hopefully) simple repair.

Temp guage on my Octy Mk I 1.9TDi no longer operates, usually sits at zero - occasionally bursts back into life for a short period, then drops back to zero.

No over / under temp problems with the car, problem only happened short time after cam belt and water pump were replaced. (Suspect heavy handed mechanic disturbed temp sensor cabling)

Problem is, don't know where the temp sensor is located. Anybody help out with a picture?

I bet it's dead obvious when you know what you're looking for....

Thanks in advance for your help.

Got the same problem. Glad I'm not alone. I haven't found any answers yet but I'll let you know if I find anything

Time to recycle a favourite picture (110TDi):

Have you plugged in a fault code reader?

How is the performance and economy of the car? The CTS has 2 sets of outputs - one for the ECU and one to drive the gauge on the dash.

Coolant temperature sensor, these fail alot.

Buy the proper replacement sensor from the dealer/TPS, don't bother with eBay ones.
