Strange egr delete

Featured Replies

Hi

Vrs had stage 2 turbo fitted , and milltek de cat and full system , needed egr delete pipe

My garage fitted it , but the eml did not come on , he told me he just bypassed it , everyone says u need egr to be mapped out to lose eml light , so what happened , this Is on a Blt engine

Thanks trev

Think it can be turned off in VCDS? Might be wrong though I know it can be turned down.

It might of been already mapped out when you had the stage 2 work done?

Ide say the person who mapped it turned it right down anyway so it wouldnt bring the light up. I didnt get a light up when i fitted mine after a map.

How many miles have you done?

As it can take upto 200miles to log the fault code

Correct. Seen I lot if maps that have the values in the EGR map set so it isn't used. This allows a delete pipe to be used without a warning light.

Later BLT's are different I believe.
