Cleaning your mitts, pads, cloths and towels etc....

Featured Replies

Not sure if there is a subject already in this however I've read some of the meguires guide and it simply advises to put your stuff into a 60 degree wash with washing powder then either leave out to dry or tumble dry.

I'm doing this as I want my cleaning process to be more streamline when I come to wash it again instead of using grubby kit but do others do this also?

Any tips?

From last weekends wash, I found I need a few more micro-fibre cloths and ideally a wax/polish pad extra as I dropped one of the floor by mistake and spent ages cleaning dirty off it to continue.

Wash by hand in fairy liquid to get them started.....

..... then put in the washing machine with LIQUID washing fluid NOT powder on a 60C wash programme

Then put in the drier on a medium/low setting for an hour

Job done

this may sound silly but what do you mean by a liquid washing fluid? I've only ever known washing powder and fabric conditioner (which it advises not to use)

Non Bio Liquid wash

I use this:

I can honestly say I've never seen anything like this in my life haha (it's the wife's department usually)

Thanks for the advice though Chris, much appreciated!

I use non bio powder(well the tablets) on my micro fibre cloths and they "appear" to be fine.

Though the wife started stealing them to clean stuff so I need some new ones. :giggle:

The polishing/wax pads don't seem to have stood up to being reused much.

You get some dust in the cloths with a washing powder

Liquid washing detergent, 90 deg wash and allow them to dry on the clothes horse. Works for me

I use a 15 minute express wash cycle with whatever lquid bio is on the shelf!!
