Please ,, put links for competition clutch for skoda fabia,,

Welcome to Briskoda fabia_rulers,I do not know of a specific link, but you could try demon-tweeks.

Their website is www.demon-tweeks.co.uk

You seriously want a performance clutch? Do you want group N or Group A? I'm assuming it would be Polo Mk 4 stuff if so:

go to your friendly VW dealer and ask for part number: 6NV 141 031 which is the grp N clutch plate for the Polo Mk 4

talk to Eric @ AAT on 01543 683051

If you want more info, have a look at http://www.rallypartsireland.com/TechInfo/TechSpecs.asp?ID=4 A very useful site if you are into that sort of thing (its in my favourites)

Failing all of the above, if you want to spend less money, let me know & I'll put you in touch with someone who can do you an AP organic clutch plate for very reasonable money (ie under

Just another thought, talk to your dealer about it, rather than VW. There are group N Fabias running on the in various UK championships. If thats the case you should be able to obtain from your own Skoda dealer (I know they have rollcages etc listed in theoir parts catalogue). Also seem to remember that there are a couple of group A ones around this year (direct fronm the factory). Again, Eric may be able to help with sourcing these.

For the uninitiated, what benefits does a so-called performace clutch offer over the standard one? Is it more rigid, or is it quicker?

Its a nicer colour

Honest answer? It offers more clamping power and will handle higher torque loads than the standard one. Can't remember what the standard one will take, but first level of upgrade for ours take sit up to about 350 lb/ft, go for a paddle (4 or 6) and it will handle 450 upwards :D

So in effect, when we do a Jabba, we should also really be looking into a clutch upgrade to support the extra torque?

Should? Dunno.

Having said that, mine gets fitted on Thursday :D

I'm surprised you still haven't had it replaced

I replace them about every 50k miles, just to be on the safe side.

But is the replacement a like for like or an upgrade? The public demands to know! :D

Q.

Psst, Des... Any more information you're after so we can beat the competition? ;)

AP organic :D

To match my brakes :D

And choice in food?

mines going in friday....

jon bring it to usc for a shakedown.....;)

Can't do it Paul :(

Other things planned for the weekend :(

Before next Thursday my car needs the following:

Geometry sorting

New radiator bolts

Rear bushes

ARB mounting bushes

Steering rack bushes

new tyres

Clutch

Main oil seal

Gearbox oil change

FMIC plumbing

Brake upgrade

Boost controller

Not a lot, but it all takes time.

Should be good once done though :D

you forgot new turbo?

And for the really uninitiated, what are 'Group N' and 'Group A'?

They are rally classes.

Group N are essentially showroom cars, but with minor tweeks. Certain components are allowed to be uprated but things like suspension pickup points must remain standard.

Group A is anything else up to and including WRC cars

you forgot new turbo

Nope, just want to get the other bits in first. Forgot to add the intelligent water spray kit into the above list

No point building a house without good foundations :D

which boost controller are you going for?

Not sure, probably just manual ie Dawes to start with or possibly Blitz
