Does anyone make a quick shifter for the vRS?

Black-Magic. - Ah well.... there goes that theory!

No one yet has mentioned that short shifters bugger up the syncros on your gearbox.

I was told it is something to do with the syncro needing to slow down between gear changes. If you beat the syncro, it causes premature wear.

Whilst I can see where you're coming from, you could get just the same problem with the standard gearchange used quickly surely.

Yes, you could.

Though I think the point is that with a quick shifter you're shifting "quickly" all the time so wear will be greater than a normal shifter.

For example, when driving in town with a standard shifter the cange will be very xslow, with the quick shift it'll still be "quick"

I must admit I do take it a little easy with the gearbox compared to some other cars.

Some cars really dont mind slamming them into the next gear up/down as quick as you can, whereas others will protest. Those that protest would probably not be a good choice for a quick shifter.

Cant see the point with the Furby anyway, but then I don't race it (much ;)) I suppose :D

It would be one on the potential list of mods, I have a feeling FMIC/Milltek/remap may happen before though

I see your point - but likewise having a remap is going to put more strain on the system too. All cars will have a certain tolerance level/ "factor of safety" in the design. In over 30 years of motoring I've never had problems with a gearbox, or a clutch for that matter, apart from a grubscrew falling out of the 5th gear on a Citroen XM gearbox which trashed the gearbox and ultimately wrote off the car (because replacement was more than the value of the car) - but that was nothing to do with being strained... :(
