Brake rewind tool - which one

Featured Replies

Get the more comprehensive one. you might not want to use it on just one vehicle, and then you will need another. A similar item from Sealey will cost a small fortune by comparison.

Yeah man, do it. I have the Laser one (and I had to do a little filing to actually get it to fit itself properly) but having seen the price of the other one, I think I'm going to have to invest money I DON'T have, myself. ;)

I couldn't be bothered to do mine, they decided to wear out just at mot time in January and I was too lazy to do it in the cold so I got friendly mechanic to do it for £30, only a tenner more than the tool, best thing was I kept warm! lol

I'm all for buying tools but they took over 32k to wear out in the first place, would of ended up one of those tools you only use once lol

My mates garage use the second one at their place, I've borrowed it twice and it works a treat.

Always better to invest a little more , for the future jobs , as there will always be another day another car

I have the top one which has 2 choices but is perfect for the VAG group of cars.

used mine 3 or 4 times on my car so paid for itself. Used it to help other folks to and had beer money for lending it out.

i prefer to have tools to do the job than get someone else to do it.

I have a full set of the ones on Amazon but brought them at machine mart ages ago and have used them numerous times and on various cars. Very useful and a good price.

The big set looks a bargain though.

What's wrong with a big clamp and some mole grips???

A lot,

Apart from it is a pain to mess with clamps and twist piston at same time on these car's the mole grips can chew the piston up quite bad..

It was said tongue in cheek but I have had to do it with soft jaws before lol

Many modern calipers (especially rears) require rotation in order to windback.

Edit: Ahhh, I see what you were getting at now... still far from ideal. FWIW, I've had a couple of motors that you'd have never been able to get away with that.

Ah ok buddy, no worries.

Some of us like to build our tool collections :)

Have another look & read the description. :peek:

I just noticed the Amazon description...

Includes: Magnetic left handed and right handed spindle, clearly marked LH and RH for left handed and right handed users
:giggle:

Umm... not quite...

I have both tools , i think the bottom one is great as it covers so many cars.
