Fabia struggling to start

Featured Replies

Hi

Recently my fabia has been struggling to start. its usually fine and starts everytime.

I turn the jey and it turns over then the engine kicks in but stalls immediately, the revs at this point are 0, the rev counter hardly moves, i keep trying this and eventually it manages to stay started but still the revs only creep up to the 1(0) mark at this point the rev counter moves up and down as if it is relearning the minimum values.

any ideas?

It's not relearning anything, it's just the ECU adjusting the throttle butterfly to try and tick over.

I assume this is a cold start problem, if so you should replace the engine temperature sensor, reset the ECU and report back.

HI, its not only a cold start problem, did it the other day when it had only been sat for 40 or so minutes??

are the sensors expensive/easy to get to?

Thanks

Have a look on euro car parts for a price. Not sure how easy they are to fit but on most cars they are easy to get to.
