Featured Replies

As above? iv tryed to Search it but can't find any oil grades;(

5w40 quantum platinum

Just used the above in my car. 5L from a Skoda dealer on eBay for £30 delivered.

Me too, changed my oil & filter myself last week. Bought it from 'dieseltrader' on eBay for £20 collected.

Anything 505.01 or 507 certified in the grade 5w/40 will be fine

As Andy has said, you haven't done a proper search, there are plenty of threads about about oils in this section, I'm sure I've commented to many of those too.

The oil must meet or exceed VW 505.01 which are usually 5W-40. You can use the more expensive long-life oils (504/507) which are usually 5W-30. Ensure you buy 5 litres, as some (ie Castrol) only sell 4l bottles.

I personally use Millers oil (XFE-PD), but many people use Quantum Oil as dealers use it and is cheaper.

Quantum every time, it's VAG's own brand produced by Castrol to VAG's spec. It used to be that Longlife III (507) was higher priced than the standard 505.01 stuff but the last lot I purchased was almost the same, expect to pay £30 or less all in.
