anyway of knowing if your car has being mapped?

mine has just come back from the garage and my mechanic asked if its being remapped as it was quite quick for a PD170, i have no paper work to prove that its being remapped and the previous owner is none the wiser.

could vagcom provide any information?

With VCDS you can log boost etc. which should show wether its been mapped or not.

However the PD170 feels quick anyway due to the torque curve of the PD engine.

To think its been remapped someone must have been having fun pushing your car on a bit.

"Feels" being the key word. They're not as quick as they feel.

hes a well trusted mechanic and i just wouldn't let any old grease monkey in it lol safely say its all A-OK

How long have you had the car?

I have wondered this myself with mine, but as already mentioned the torque is alot on these standard so I just assume i'm not used to it yet!

However it would of give my old V70 T5 a good run for it's money and that was quick :-)

only had the car a good 2 weeks, but coming from a remapped VW Bora PD130, it doesn't feel quick but is alot smoother then the bora on how power is delivered imo
