CLUTCH HELP!

Featured Replies

hi, i got a 2004 fabia VRS to day in p/x with my other one. i dont like the clutch on it as the bite is to high. the paper work says the clutch is a CG motoersports 8 paddle compitition clutch kit, CG motorsports 6 speed solid billet flywheel and concentric slave. i dont know much anout what that means all i know is i dont like how the clutch is. would i be able to put a stander clutch in or do i need to replace flywheen too? anyone go a rough price on the standered parts? cheers

Im guessing if its got that clutch fitted it will have been at least re-mapped if not more.

If that is the case a standard clutch wont last for very long, if more than just a re-map :(

The previous owner says its got a remap safe for a standard car but doesn't really feel mapped. But apart from that its standard. I just really don't like the clutch, the biteing point is so high. Just want a standard clutch but not sure if I need to replace more than just the clutch to do so, thanks

No point in going back to a standard clutch

The clutch has been uprated for a reason. You'll go back to a standard clutch then it will slip again

I'm not really sure the car is mapped, it just feels as a standard one would. What else could I do about the high clutch, it's really not nice to drive.

It's probably meant to be like that if its a competition paddle clutch?

Yeah think it is ment to be like that, it's just horrible to drive. I just want it all back to standard. Thanks

they must of put such a hardcore clutch on for a reason but if you did want a standardish clutch id be temped to get the single mass conversion kit from euro car parts then sell the removed paddle clutch on here / ebay to try regain as many funds as possible

Get it flashed back to standard and fit a standard clutch and flywheel

Or sell the car and buy a standard one

they must of put such a hardcore clutch on for a reason

Could just be cost. When I was looking around, paddles were cheaper, and since it was the second car I'd had to buy a clutch for I was very tempted just down to the price. But then I read how bad they were for town driving because they're very on/off and soon went off the idea again.

It's so hard to drive with, just Hoping to get it back to a normal drive at a cheap a price as possible. Any one have an idea how much a standard flywheel and clutch kit costs? Cheers

I take it there is no way to adjust the clutch peddle either to make it bite a little lower?
