My Fabia VRS needs a fresh coat of pain due to laquer peel. Anyone offering a post service on here to get it resprayed.

Mark

It's very difficult to remove without damaging as it's bonded on.

Sending it off and being painted on its own, you might not get an exact colour match either.

I've heard it might be covered under the 10 year body work guarantee. I rang to ask my local dealer and they said they would need to look at it, just waiting for sometime to get there between 9-4 mon-fri...

10 yr guarantee just refers to metal work not plastic.

Cheers lads, im trying to avoid losing the car for a few days thats all I guess if its bonded on then ill have no choice!

Get it wraped cheaper and quicker job

Mine is also peeling quite badly

Can't it be resprayed while still on the car if everything around it is masked??

When I had my spoiler smoothed and painted the lads in the paint shop said "it virtually fell off" so cant be too hard to remove.

I had my lacquer peeling spoiler, painted on the car, they done a great job too, you can't even tell.

Theres an se with a lady owner that had one done under some good will gesture / warranty recently iirc?

Well ive just raised a dispute / case with Skoda Auto over body corrosion. I have an appointment to see them this Saturday so maybe if all goes well ill twist their arm to sort my spoiler out too or offer them a few extra quid. We shall see!!!

For anyone following this one skoda actually managed to claim on their warranty including tailgate respray and offside rear arch resprayed because im so fussy. Then I paid them a few extra quid to have the spoiler done! I found the claiming process easy enough.

few extra quid? what do you call a few quid lol mines currently at skoda for paintwork under warrenty and they wanted £150 + vat for the spoiler

They come off very easy. I've actually got a spare spoiler in black magic with excellent paint work (no lacquer peel) that I bought whilst I was looking for a vRS; but then I happened to buy one with a good spoiler on it, so never used it... typical

yeh was around 150 mate for the spoiler but its done now and it was a top job!

You call £150 to paint a spoiler a few extra quid? That sounds like you've been robbed blind to me, no offence intended but that seems awfully steep even for a really good job.

I was quoted £90 at a small garage near me to do it and I thought that was a bit steep lol

I could do it myself but want it done properly because i don't want to damage anything when removing it, or knowing me, i attach it back and it falls off on the M6

a dealer would quote 150 + vat as they say they have to remove the spoiler to paint it or so they told me ....
