Iritating engine noise

Featured Replies

having recently picked up a new yeti 170 4x4 was initially over the moon with it however after 800 odd mile it,s developed a irritating noise on the engine which raises and lowers with the revs on the engine, does,nt do it on tick over, took it to a local dealer and got a load of flannel of them when i picked it up saying it,s normal had skoda assist take a look an d run a diagnostic on which it does,nt show but was recognized as a fault and coming from the fuel pump area, have had another dealer look at it giving them the info off the assist guy,got more flannel off them, just wanting to know if anybody else has developed this clicking noise which when at it,s worst can be heard in the cabin when driving?

A clicking noise?

Don't recall anyone mentioning a noise such as this from the engine area, I had an issue as did others with the metal brake pipes off the servo and along the bulk head in the engine bay vibrating, causing a thrumming noise. This doesn't sound like your issue.

loose heat shield somewhere? I had a engine rattle once and that's what it was. Was worst at a specific RPP tho

these kinda problems w almost new engines are unacceptable IMO.

Here is similar symptom but in very old jetta:

Offnote - I'm really over the moon & delighted for you that you've learned how to use Google - but is some ancient post really relevant when somebody's talking about a new car?

I've heard that the brakes on an Estelle weren't very good, but it didn't stop me buying a Yeti - maybe you could do us all a favour & tell us all about the beneficial effects of electric shock treatment!

apologies for not replying but have been busy of late, and have  had a long drawn out process trying to get my little monster soughted, after going back to the 3rd dealer i,d tried after multiple others 1 being a vw dealer and a skoda assit report, they tried to convince me it was still a figment of my imagination again, after refusing to budge from the seat a techician had a look at the car with me and agreed to change the fuel pump based on what the report said, really it was to get rid of me so the result is there still sounds like there,s a buzz saw under the bonnet when the engines under load, took it back again,.the result is that it,s just the rail making the noise nothing to worry about, however they say there,s no valves or moving parts so what,s creating the noise?

albiet if it was if it was out of warranty it would need sorting immediatly at great exspence, but will find out soon as it,s going back again for them to have a look at some paint blisters on the lower section of the passenger door, apart from that happy as larry with the car it goes as good as it looks!!!

i will post back on any replies and let you all know how it pans out as it happens

cheers&happy motoring
