Aircon Oddity

Featured Replies

So now that its finally getting warm enough to do something, the aircon gremlins have decided to inconvenience me.

The aircon works, blowing nice and cold air, but not until the engine gets up to temp at 90°. I can't really remember if thats supposed to be like that or if it was like that last summer, so can anyone advise me? Also, what should I check if this isn't normal behaviour? Like I said, its lovely and cold, but only when it finally kicks in to life. Pressing Auto/Econ or changing the value on the climatronic doesn't seem to make any difference, it won't blow cold air until its ready.

I'm guessing some vent flap is stuck internally.

It's not supposed to be like that but I'm stuck with the reason for it

You can check the flap positions with VCDS.
