Some years ago I owned an Octavia I Estate, have since spent the last 9+ years driving company car but now need to buy again. Currently have a Golf 6 Estate 1.6TDI so looking to replace with something similar.

Octavia II Estate is top of the short list, I've found an '05 plate 1.9D Ambiente with 16k miles (backed up by service book and MOT's) condition of body, interior, tyres etc all appear in keeping in keeping with the mileage.

Just wondering if there are 'known issues' to look out for on this age/model?

Very low mileage for a car of that age

2k miles a year for a diesel is not a good thing, presumably it must have all been short journeys, perhaps going to the shops a couple of times a week.

Was it serviced annually?

If you have the service history (receipts rather thanonly a stamped book) with a new battery perhaps and a 100 mile run should sort it.
