Yeti tops Auto Express Driver Power survey

Featured Replies

I'm sort of with speedsport on this one, as being honest neither of the Yeti's I've owned have been fault free and both had/have noticeable cabin trim rattles. Although so far touching wood only one component change, that being a parking sensor control unit. The rest either being resetting electrical systems of things coming loose.

Dealers are my main concern though, as year by year the standard of workmanship seems to get worse (sign of the times maybe; less pride in a good job done and the old time is money routine). Have stopped using my three closest dealers because their workmanship standards, IMHO, are below what I feel is acceptable. Therefore I'm now using the services of a dealer 70 miles away.

Would I buy from another manufacture then no but purely as none currently offer anything that meets my needs or is interesting enough to tempt me away from Skoda.

Oh of interest my Dad has very recently swapped his 09 Superb II for a 2011 Merc E250 (better deal than he could get on a new Octy III) and although he's still getting used to it, his initial impressions are that he misses the more positive ride and handling of the old berb. As I say though he's new to the car after three years with the Skoda.

Oh and by strange coincidence SUK have just sent an advertising e-mail thanking me for owning a Yeti and promoting this latest award :giggle:

Interesting comment Tim, as you are aware I am based not far from you so I assume you link the dealer in Hull I purchased my Yeti from as not up to standard. What is the main reason, and where do you go now?

53k miles in my Yeti, and she's in for her first MOT test today (just going to collect her - passed no problems). I too had the white worm in the bootlid badge, and I've twice had a problem with a yellow warning light (the one that looks like an engine outline) coming on, and the car then switching into some kind of 'slow drive' mode. The first time I took it into the dealers and they sorted it under warranty (can't remember what it was now, some exhaust sensor gizmo faulty), the second time I called out Skoda Assist, and the guy dismantled something in the air intake, cleaned it up, put it back and she's been fine since.

So predictable, so sad ... yawn

I think I WILL throw that ignore switch now

Hah hah, for once I was an early adopter :-)

Ignore? Come on, you know it makes sense. :giggle:
