Hi all 3rd day of vrs ownership and i can smell burning...get out of car and my rear discs are bluish :(

looks like the handbrake lever on the caliper isnt coming away!

Had the EXACT same problem with the nearside rear. When the handbrake is applied it pulls on the caliper - the bit it pulls on seizes up and doesn't let go. You can free it with lub but it only comes back again.

I have had to replace the caliper.

Well I now have a chipped tooth and 1 eye but the a3 springs are in and seems to be doing the job! Time will tell!

I was gona volunteer my vid to help with the spring fitting, but you sound like you're sorted.

My straight bits wouldn't poke through the holes as much as yours did no matter what I did! Iv operated it a good 20-30 times though and it seems ok, fingers crossed!
